Ivory cannot access my microphone
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Go to Privacy & Security, then Microphone.
- Enable access for Ivory.
- Return to Ivory and try recording again.
My recording did not produce a transcript
Make sure the recording contains clear human speech and that your device has enough free storage. Keep Ivory open while transcription completes. Very quiet audio, heavy background noise, or unsupported speech may produce an incomplete or empty transcript.
Does Ivory require an internet connection?
No. Ivory includes its transcription model and can record, transcribe, organize, and review notes without an internet connection. App Store downloads and Apple system services may still require connectivity.
How do I delete audio without deleting the note?
Open Ivory Settings and find Files by Note. Swipe left on a recording and choose Delete Audio. The transcript and note will remain.
How do I remove everything from Ivory?
Open Ivory Settings, go to Storage, and choose Delete All Notes & Audio. This action cannot be undone, so export or retain anything you need before confirming.
My Apple Watch recording has not appeared on iPhone
Keep the Watch near its paired iPhone, confirm Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled, and open Ivory on the iPhone. Transfers may wait until the devices reconnect. Also confirm that Ivory is installed and available in the Watch app on iPhone.
How do I add Ivory widgets?
On the Home Screen, touch and hold an empty area, tap Edit, then Add Widget and search for Ivory. For Lock Screen widgets, touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, choose Lock Screen, and select Ivory in the widget area.
How can I get a better recording?
Place the iPhone close to the speaker, avoid covering its microphones, and reduce background noise where possible. AirPods or a compatible external microphone can help in larger rooms.
What should I include in a bug report?
Include your iPhone or iPad model, iOS or iPadOS version, Ivory version from Settings, what you expected, what happened, and the exact steps that reproduce the problem. Attach a screenshot of any error, but remove private note or recording content first.
